“A member of Ontario’s COVID-19 Science Advisory Table has resigned from his position, alleging politics appear to be influencing public health recommendations and claiming the group is sitting on modelling data that “projects a grim fall.”
Dr. David Fisman, an epidemiologist at University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health, announced his resignation from the table publicly on Monday by posting his notification letter to social media.“

In short Politics appear to be influencing public health recommendations?
To begin with the politicians are the only ones involved in this scenario that have been duly elected by the citizens of this Province. Therefore they are responsible to the electors. In this case the members of the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health seem to think they should be the ones making decisions for this Province.
Specifically In a democracy it is the elected government that makes the decisions for those that elected them not some obscure group of thinkers in a think tank. To this end under no circumstances should the citizens of this Province be subjected to ” Ontario needs a public health system that is arm’s length from politics. “
Finally is it not time to put these autocrats back in their box so that this Province can finally get on with its economic and social recovery?
