We are in a mid-summer Mini-Wave
Yes folks this is a mini-wave although Public Health would have you believe the sky is falling one more time. It is a mere blip compared to the wave at the beginning of 2022. It is small compared to the Easter Wave. I will focus on Ontario since that is where I live but please stop causing panic in the masses with your nonsense.

Okay now lets look at the facts. On January 10 in Ontario we hit a whopping 140,523 announced Active Cases. Just after Easter we had four weeks of rising Active Cases reaching a high of 36,011 Active Cases on April 16 before they again dropped. That was four weeks of increases. Now to the present. As of today July 14 our Active Cases after three weeks of increases are a massive 14,607 yet we are all going to Hell in a hand basket it seems.
Why on Earth do we continue to push the panic button? Well it’s time to sell some more vaccines. Oh yes the fourth dose is the only savior to this wicked July wave.
Not only that if you listen to the YouTube we must all have our fourth dose by the fall to avoid that wicked fall/winter wave that they know is coming.
Now to Testing
At no time this year have the daily positivity rates been below 10% even though last year in the middle of the pandemic rates averaged below 3% and only once exceeded 13%. Today’s rate is 14.9%. Even with higher transmission of the virus this consistently high rate is suspect.
What is the reason?
Before I answer that question please listen to the following video on cycles and positivity rates.
Yes the cycle counts are critical in determining levels of positivity. I have questioned the cycle counts used by the the Province of Ontario and for that matter across the country. Nowhere does Public Health tell us what the cycle counts are they are using during testing. As you will have heard in the above video anything over 35 cycles is suspect as the quality of testing deteriorates.
Here are a couple of charts I have posted today using numbers directly from Ontario Public Health.

Even though Active Cases in Ontario today increased by only 927 based on the positivity rate reported of 14.9% and the actual number of tests performed of 11,268 the number of new infections should be 1,679. Hmm! What happened to the other 752 supposed cases? Should they not have been reflected in the Active Cases?
There is clearly something rotten in the state of things.

Conclusion
Yes we are in a mini-wave. No the sky is not falling. Yes Public Health is again pushing the panic button and scaring the general population. Are they preparing us again for fall and winter lock-downs, mandatory masking, isolation, travel restrictions, etc.?
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Suck it up babies and learn to live with this endemic disease just like living with colds, the flu and many other viruses. Yes some may die but more die from many other illnesses and accidents than covid-19.
And stop with the high positivity rates Ad Nauseam. Prove that you are using cycle counts under 35.
