Twitter flags Tweet by Chrystia Freeland as ‘manipulated media’

In My Opinion
In the first place it appears in this election the Liberals will stoop to any level to try and win their majority. To continue unfortunately the effort today highlighted by Twitter falls somewhere between gutter politics and public misinformation.
Above all it is time in this country that the dirty tricks be left to our neighbours to the south and we see our political parties focus on the issues at hand. Moreover it is not dirty politics to use real video footage of one’s opposition clearly making a misstep. However it is another thing to edit and manipulate video footage to try and make a point that in reality doesn’t exist.
Finally Chrystia Freeland is the Deputy Prime Minister of our country and it is deplorable that she would engage in such tactics. Also good for you Twitter for pointing out the problem with the tweet; however, why was the tweet not taken down from your site?

“Perhaps this is all just normal partisan hyperbolics. But Twitter apparently doesn’t think so. Late Sunday evening the platform labelled the edited video in question as “manipulated media.” Once again the Liberals have managed to step on a rake in their efforts to wedge their opponents.
We should never see elections as pointless or a waste of time. Canadians exercising their democratic voice is never pointless. But if the Liberals really have nothing better to offer than what they’ve offered us thus far, Canadians should be rightfully annoyed with Liberals having called a cynical snap election to consolidate power in the dog days of summer as parents are getting ready for the return of school during a COVID fourth wave.”
