Why are Positivity Rates Jumping all of a sudden?
Let me set the stage for everyone. Back in April 2021 we were shut down Province-wide and interestingly as the daily reported “New Cases” were announced and right when the shut down was announced the positivity rates for testing jumped from below 6% to well above 6% throughout the shutdown. On May 20th the Premier announced the reopening strategy for the Province. You guessed it…in conjunction with that announcement the positivity rates dropped below 6% and stayed there until in the last few days talk began about another shutdown to coincide with Christmas with announcements from the Provincial Government of tighter controls once again and the positivity rates again have jumped well above where they have been at about 2% to today at over 8%.
Now compare today with the one from May 2021 around when the Premier announced the reopening to give us a perspective on what I am saying.
Now the interesting point is the Active Cases reported each day have grown proportionately as we can see from the chart I post every day on my website reflecting data captured directly from the Ontario Government website.
In lockstep with the testing positivity and the talk about new shutdowns the Active Cases have also jumped on a daily basis.

Conclusion
These actions are planned and deliberate by Public Health and the Ontario Government.
I will predict that we will see the same pattern as we saw in April/May 2021.
Is this because of Omicron? I will hazard a guess and say no since it is being clearly said that Omicron while being more infectious is not nearly as strong as Delta.
This is because the powers in control need to instill a new level of fear in the public to ensure compliance with their next agenda item that will appear I predict in early 2023.
I challenge this Government to demonstrate that these positivity numbers are in fact new infections as opposed to a renewed use of testing cycles above 35 to produce the results they want.
